Friday’s Photo: Chemo is done!

Today’s Friday photo expresses how I feel as I had my very last round of Chemo this past Wednesday. I know I have 6-8 rough days ahead but who cares…chemo is done!!!!!

After a few weeks to recover from chemo I will start seven weeks of daily radiation. Other than the long daily drive for a ten minute treatment, I am not anticipating the side effects to be nearly as challenging as chemo. Upwards and onward toward perfect health.

Have a great weekend everyone!

    Hi Linda,
I’m so happy for you too! You are an amazing woman and an inspiration! (although I would never be inspired to stand that close to the edge of a canyon!) What you are going through has really made me think seriously lately about what makes me happy in my life. Family, and friends like you are what it’s all about. Congratulations on getting through chemo!

Thanks Betsy, I take all that you say to heart. It was scary as Hell in the beginning but with the support of everyone I felt uplifted and made it through just fine. One more treatment to go and then I truly believe I will be cured for life.

i have been following your journey and am so happy you are finished with the hardest part of this journey. Both my parents and sister went through cancer treatment and we know first hand it is a roller coaster ride. As my father used to say ” a positive attitude is good for the immune system” (he was a doctor). You certainly have appeared to have had a great attitude, although like most people I’m sure there were some rough days. Best of luck with radiation and I look forward to reading more posts!!!!

Thank you so much Elizabeth, I did my best and worked my hardest to keep an upbeat positive attitude. Otherwise, I would have just sat around on the sofa all Summer feeling sorry for myself and that would have been the worst medicine ever!

What a beautiful photo! You are so talented.

Another tip: At the start of radiation and during, apply the Aloe plant gel ( the actual plant) not from the bottle, on the affected area and on your chest. It will avoid buring and itching. it helped me tremendously.

      Thanks for the tip Ann!
